Blank Destacking System
Front of Line Blank Feeding for Tandem Press Lines
The blank destacking system is the front of line of a tandem press line. In other words, it is where every stamped part begins. Specifically, it separates blanks from the stack and feeds them into the line at high speed. Moreover, it handles both steel and aluminium blanks without a change of equipment.
How the Blank Destacking System Works
Fanner magnets sit beside the stack and hold the top sheets apart. As a result, only one blank lifts at a time. Operators position these magnets by hand on swivel arms. Therefore, a changeover takes minutes instead of hours. However, magnets do not work on aluminium. In that case, built-in compressed air nozzles separate the sheets instead. Consequently, the line keeps its rated speed on either material.

Blank Destacking System Specification

| Sheet loader (steel & aluminium) | 2 positions |
| Blank size | Up to 4,500 × 2,500 mm |
| Max. blank stack weight | Up to 5,000 kg per position |
| Steel pack height | Max. 600 mm (including pallet) |
| Magnet arms | Up to 6 sets per cart for sheet separation |
| Destacker type | Fixed, or cart-movable for loading |
New Line or Retrofit
The front of line uses a modular design. Because of this, it fits a new turn-key system as easily as an existing one. In a retrofit, it replaces an ageing destacker without rebuilding the rest of the automation. Furthermore, the cart-movable version lets the next stack be prepared while the line runs. Consequently, a stack change no longer stops production. For robot safety in press applications, the ISO 10218 standard applies.
Talk to Us About Your Front of Line
Every stamping line runs a different part mix. Therefore, we start from your blank sizes and stack weights. Send us that data together with your line layout. Then our engineers will propose a blank destacking system matched to your target stroke rate.
